Public Council of RF Transport Ministry supports improved draft Transport Strategy through 2030 (photo)
The Public Council of the RF Transport Ministry has generally supported the improved draft Transport Strategy through 2030 having noted the necessity to follow on its development in compliance with the remarks of the Council members. According to the Ministry’s press center, the draft document was considered by the Council on January 30, 2013.
RF Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov, deputies of RF Transport Minister and the heads of the federal agencies and services subordinate to the Transport Ministry participated in the meeting headed by Anatoli Kucherena, Chairman of the Public Council, member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation.
When opening the meeting the Minister noted that the development of an improved Transport Strategy was and still remains one of the most significant targets of the Ministry’s activities.
According to Sokolov, the Transport Strategy together with the state program “Transport System Development” approved by RF Government will become the prime means for strategic and mid-term budget planning.
According to Aleksei Tsydenov, deputy Transport Minister of the Russian Federation, the improved Transport Strategy provides for adjusted measures on construction and reconstruction of transport infrastructure facilities, specifies measures on renovation of the vehicle stock and development of up-to-date systems ensuring the required safety of transport operation.
Together with the adjustment of the Transport Strategy the draft plan for its implementation was developed providing for immediate start of the Strategy implementation upon its approval by the RF Government.
The Public Council approved the bill "On Amending Article 2511 of the Federal Law" On procedure of exit from the Russian Federation and Entry into the Russian Federation” and “On Amending Article 46 of the Air Code of the Russian Federation”.
The draft federal law "On Amending Article 2511 of the Federal Law" On procedure of exit from the Russian Federation and Entry into the Russian Federation” is aimed to ensure visa-free entry and stay in the Russian Federation for foreign citizens arriving as tourists by sport sailing boats and leisure crafts. It will facilitate the development of tourism, including yacht tourism, and the development of transport, tourism and social infrastructure in the regions especially attractive for tourists. The draft federal law is currently under reconciliation procedure with the involved federal authorities and executive authorities.
