Marine Façade (St. Petersburg) expects 9-pct increase in number of calls this year
Passenger Port St. Petersburg "Marine Façade" expects a 9-pct increase of ship calls to 240 in 2013, PortNews IAA reporter cites Serik Zhusupov, President of JSC Passenger Port St. Petersburg "Marine Façade", as saying today, January 30, 2013.
The passenger flow growth is expected at the same level in 2013 – 9%, explained Serik Zhusupov. However the passenger port has an opportunity to raise this result, he noted.
“The port is able to handle some 50 vessels more. And we informed the agents and the Harbor Master about it. I think the number of 240 calls will be improved,” underlined Serik Zhusupov.
JSC Passenger Port St. Petersburg "Marine Façade" is in the ownership of the city of St. Petersburg and is the largest passenger seaport in Russia. Construction of Marine Façade began in 2006. The port can accommodate cruise and ferry ships of up to 311 m long and with a draft of up to 9 m. The length and depth of new access channels - 10 km and 11 m, accordingly. The port operates seven piers. The quay wall length – 2,171.06 m. In 2011, passenger traffic at Marine Façade was 405,200 people.
