Rosmorport icebreakers assist 17 vessels along Volga-Caspian Seaway Canal
According to the ice operations headquarters, Rosmorport icebreakers are escorting 17 vessels along the Volga-Caspian Seaway Canal.
Icebreakers Captain Bukaev and Captain Metsaik are assisting a mership convoy of 8 vessels going to the port of Astrakhan in the district of 45-55 km of VCSC.
Icebreakers Captain Chechkin is escorting a mership convoy of 9 vessels from Astrakhan and Olya ports.
From December 16, 2012, the convoy navigation in the water area of Astrakhan port is carried out with icebreaking assistance according to the order of the port’s Harbor Master.
From December 21, 2012, tug and tow vessels or non-reinforced vessels are not permitted to ice navigation in the water area of Astrakhan port.
