Container throughput of Transgarant up 1% to 148,872 TEUs in 2012
In 2012, the volume of Transgarant container transportation amounted to 148,872 TEUs, a 1-pct gain against the previous year result, the company’s press center reports.
Cargo turnover of the companies incorporated by Transgarant Group totaled 29.7 bln ton-km, down 11%, year-on-year. The volume of cargo transportation made 23.6 mln t, a 8-pct decrease, year-on-year.
The company’s major cargoes are coal (9.8 mln t - 42 % of the total cargo volume), iron ore raw materials (5.5 mln t accounting for 23% of total volume) and construction materials (1.8 mln t - 8%).
Transgarant is privately owned freight rail operator in the Russian transportation market and a part of FESCOTransportation Group. The company provides freight rail services in industrial cargo transportation.
The company operates 16.2 thousand cars, 93 % of cars are own.
Transgarant's freight rail turnover is over 33.5 billion tonnes-km. Annual transportation volume is 25.5 million tonnes.
Transgarant incorporates four subsidiaries. Transgarant-Ukraine provides forwarding services for the companies of metals and mining sector of Ukraine economy. Metiztrans is a coal carrier in Siberia and the Far East. Tektrans is the Latvian freight rail operator for liquefied petroleum gas transportation. Transgarant-Vostok provides transportations by own trains at Far Eastern Railway.
Transgarant transports cargos via Russia and CIS countries, has 25 branches and representations.
Rolling stock of the company consists of universal railcars (gondola cars, box cars and flat cars), and specialized railcars: ore pellet cars, petrol and ammonia tanks, fitting flat cars, rolled sheet flat cars, cement cars, mineral cars, tanks for liquefied gas transportation.
The company operates 5 main line diesel locomotives and 2 shunting locomotives.
