Cargo handling by North Caucasus Railway up 2.9% to 68.4 mln t in 2012
In 2012, cargo handling by North Caucasus Railway totaled 68.4 mln of export-import cargo (up 2.9%, year-on-year), the Railway’s press center informs.
The volume of cargo handled in port Novorossiysk increased by 6.8% to 32.5 mln t due to unloading of grain cargo, ferrous metal, mineral fertilizers, timber cargo and cement.
Cargo handling in the port of Tuapse grew by 9%, year-on-year, to 12.5 mln tons mainly due to unloading of grain cargo, oil cargo, ferrous metal and mineral fertilizers by Tuapse Bulker Terminal.
Cargo handling in the port of Rostov increased by 28% to 486,000 tons mainly due to unloading of coal and loading of ore and construction materials.
Azov port railway station handled 863,000 tons of cargo, up 36.4%, year-on-year.
Cargo handling in Ust-Donetsk port increased by 0.2% to over 1 mln tons of sulfur.
