Ship & Bunker data showed marine fuel prices rising on North Amercia's coasts and in the U.S. Gulf and Caribbean today, with IFO380 in Port of Spain rising $11.50 per metric tonne (pmt), while ports in Venezuela saw the grade gain between $2.00 and $6.00 pmt.
Houston IFO380 climbed for a second consecutive day rising $2.00 to $628.50 pmt, $0.50 above the price last Monday, and a $13.50 increase compared to December 21, 2012. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) slipped $1.50 to $726.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $98.00 pmt. MGO fell $0.50 to $1008.50 pmt, $1.50 higher week-on-week.
LA / Long Beach IFO380 moved up for the first time since January 7, 2013 climbing $3.50 to $626.50 pmt, $18.00 lower than last Monday, and down $2.50 month-on-month. LS380 climbed $5.50 to $762.50 making the premium for the low sulfur grade $136.00 pmt. MGO climbed $3.50 to $1029.00 pmt, down $8.50 week-on-week.
New Orleans IFO380 moved up $3.00 to $636.50 pmt, a loss of $4.00 since last Monday, and $8.50 higher than December 21, 2012. LS380 was up $0.50 to $735.50 making the premium for the ECA compliant fuel $99.00 pmt. MGO in New Orleans climbed for a second consecutive market day gaining $3.50 to $1019.00 pmt, $9.50 higher than this time last week.
Vancouver IFO380 edged up $1.00 to $638.50 pmt on what one player said was a quiet Monday in the Western Canadian port, for a $4.50 gain on last Monday, and up $5.50 month-on-month. LS380 climbed $1.50 to $875.00 putting the premium for the low sulfur fuel at $236.50 pmt. MGO in the port rose $1.50 to $1068.00 pmt, down $1.50 week-on-week.
