2.9% growth for China's bonded bunker sales
December 2012 sales of bonded bunkers in China rose 2.9 percent month-on-month to 1.01 million metric tonnes (mt), ICIS C1 data showed, Ship & Bunker reports.
General Administration of Customs data showed a notable growth in both the country's imports and exports for the month, which was said to be responsible for the increased demand for bunkers.
Sales in November 2012 stood at 980,000 mt, with January sales expected to climb further ahead of the Spring Festival holiday on February 10, 2013.
Last week Ship & Bunker reported that Sinopec Zhejiang Zhoushan Petroleum Co. Ltd. (Sinopec Zhoushan) has begun supplying bonded bunker fuel to Wenzhou Port on China's Southeast coast.
