Nevsky Shipyard lays keel of 9th dry-cargo vessel of RSD49 project
On January 15th, 2013 keel-laying for the ninth in the series of 10 dry-cargo «river-sea» type vessels of 7150 dwt RSD49 project (Yard Number 409) took place at Nevsky Shipyard LLC, the company reports. The Shipyard is building the vessels for North-Western Shipping Company, JSC. The project is developed by Marine Engineering Bureau-Design-SPb, JSC.

Capacity of cargo holds – 109,20 m3
Dwt in river (draft 3.6 m) – 4,518 t

The feature of RSD49 project vessel is the existence of a big middle hold in fifty two meters long, which makes it possible to transport “design” oversize cargoes in one way voyage Europe-Caspian Sea.
Nevsky Shipyard LLC - one of the oldest enterprises of water transport in the northwest of Russia, is situated 40 km away from Saint Petersburg, in Shliesselburg. It started shipbuilding in 1952. The Shipyard includes shipbuilding, ship repair and maintenance works. The Shipyard’s slipway allows to lift on a shore and to lower vessels up to 140 meters long and dock weight of about 3000 tons.
