Throughput of Nakhodka port up 13% to 16.91 mln t in 2012
In 2012, throughput of Nakhodka port climbed by 13%, year-on-year, to 16.91 mln t, PortNews IAA learnt from the port administration. In the reported period, transshipment of antracite grew by 21% to 4.47 mln t, ferrous metal – by 20.1% to 3.76 mln t , non-ferrous metals – by 14.1% to 518,800 tons, oil products – by 7.8% to 7.15 mln t, while transshipment of timber cargo fell by 16.5% to 462,100 tons.
The port’s container throughput increased 6 times- to 12,850 TEUs.
Nakhodka port is located on both coasts in the northern part of Nakhodka Bay. The port has year round navigation. It is linked with railway systems of Russia and Western Europe by Trans-Siberian Line. In 2011, the port’s throughput totaled 14.98 mln tons.
