Export of Russian oil via Kozmino terminal up 7.2% to 16.23 mln t in 2012
In 2012, export of Russian oil via the terminal of Spetsmornefteport Kozmino LLC (Special Oil Port of Kozmino, port Vostochny) climbed 7.2%, year-on-year, to 16.23 mln t, PortNews IAA learnt from the port administration. In December the terminal handled almost 1.8 mln t, up 28.4%.
Next year Spetsmornefteport plans to export 21 mln tons of oil including 18 mln tons to be delivered by ESPO pipeline and 3 mln tons - by railway from Skovorodino. According to the schedule, in January the port is to handle 18 vessels with each tanker volume totaling 100,000 tons of ESPO oil.
Kozmino Oil Terminal is the terminus of the ESPO Oil Pipeline (Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean) in Nakhodka, Primorsk region. The capacity of the terminal’s first stage was 15 million tons of crude oil (ESPO brand) a year. With the launch of the second stage (December 25, 2012) the capacity was expanded to 30m t/y. Russian oil exports through Kozmino in 2011 totaled 15.19 million tons. The commodity is exported primarily to the Asia-Pacific region.
