PORT FLEET vessels stop handling shipboard waste in port St. Petersburg
Subdivision of PORT FLEET CJSC, Ecological Fleet LLC, stops providing services on collecting shipboard waste from vessels subject to obligatory ecological dues in Big Port St. Petersburg, PortNews IAA learnt from Evgeni Savkin, Director General of PORT FLEET CJSC.
He says it is caused by the decision of the service ordering customer Rosmorport FSUE which held a tender and concluded a new contract for these services with Kontur SPb LLC.
“The tender was held with violations! - Evgeni Savkin comments – The winner has no permission documents for this activity which contradicts with tender terms and legislation of the Russian Federation. Having provided the customer with contract agreements the winner is actually a “lining” company rendering intermediary services.
In this context PORT FLEET CJSC has made a decision to suspend activities of its fleet in the segment of shipboard waste handling in Big Port St. Petersburg which covers 50% of all ecological services provided to vessels calling on the port. Besides, the company will file an application to the Arbitrage to review legality of the tender procedure.
Ecological Fleet LLC collects, transports and utilizes shipboard waste. Currently, the company services subdivisions of Gazpromneft OJSC, Lukoil OJSC as well as icebreakers of Rosmorport FSUE and other organizations. In 2012, Ecological Fleet serviced over 5,000 vessels which, according to the company’ estimates, accounts for 85% of all shipboard waste segment in Big Port St. Petersburg.
