Bunker prices firm in Europe
After bunker prices fell in many ports across the EMEA region yesterday, Ship & Bunker data showed Europe made many small-to-moderate positive movements today. IFO380 in Istanbul and Piraeus went against the trend and continued down for a second consecutive day.
Rotterdam IFO380 climbed $0.50 to $613.00 per metric tonne (pmt), rising $6.00 week-on-week, and up $35.00 month-on-month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) rose $3.00 to $645.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $32.50 pmt. MGO was up $7.50 to $946.00 pmt, $17.00 higher than last Tuesday.
Fujairah IFO380 dropped $0.50 to $620.00 pmt, the same price as last Tuesday, and $18.50 higher than December 17, 2012. MGO was down $8.50 to $994.50 pmt, falling below $1000 pmt for the first time since August 3, 2012, and down $11.00 week-on-week
Istanbul IFO380 moved down $7.00 to $651.50 pmt, $6.50 higher than this time last week, and $37.50 up month-on-month. MGO fell for the first time since January 4, 2013 down $3.00 to $1011.50 pmt, up $15.00 week-on-week.
Piraeus IFO380 fell $1.00 to $636.00 pmt, $5.50 above the price last Tuesday, and $40.50 up on December 17, 2012. LS380 climbed $4.00 to $707.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $71.00 pmt. MGO was up $8.50 to $984.50 pmt, rising $18.50 week-on-week.
