Alfa Laval win first PureSOx scrubber order
The PureSOx hybrid scrubber has a sulfur removal rate in excess of 98%, Alfa Laval have won their first order for Alfa Laval PureSOx exhaust gas cleaning systems, the company has announced, Ship & Bunker reports.
The scrubber order, which was placed in late December 2012, is worth approximately SEK 60 million ($9.2 million) and will be delivered during 2013.
The Swedish company said that it was unable to disclose the name of the customer or other details about the order due to a confidentiality agreement.
According to the company's website, the PureSOx hybrid scrubber has a sulfur removal rate in excess of 98%, and can use either sea water or fresh water giving it "both environmental and economical advantages."
