Shanghai plans free trade zone in Pudong
A number of government departments in Shanghai are currently studying the feasibility of developing a free trade zone in Pudong district in response to a new guidance released by the government to enhance the development of Shanghai as an international trade center. The project is likely to start this year, SinoShipNews reports.
The guidance calls for innovation and transformation of the customs and industries including finance, shipping, logistics and manufacturing. Currently the government is also implementing a trial offshore tax rebate policy in the city.
