Qingdao port sees 2012 cargo volume rise 9.5%
The port of Qingdao saw 2012 cargo volume increase 9.5% year-on-year to exceed 400m tonnes, keeping it as the fifth largest port in China and seventh in the world, according to Ministry of Transport officials, Seatrade Asia online reports.
Meanwhile Qingdao's fast-growing Dongjiakou port area achieved a throughput of 30m tonnes in 2012, and aims to hit 300m tonnes by 2015.
