Transit-DV buys third used bulk carrier
Primorsky Territory-based Russian group of companies Transit-DV has announced it consummated a business deal for the acquisition of a dry bulk carrier with a capacity of 30,000 ton, the Group’s President Sergey Boldyrev told PortNews. The 20 year old bulker was purchased in the secondary market in Norway and in the near future is expected to arrive in the Russian port of Nakhodka. Then the vessel will be re-registered under the flag of the Russian Federation.
So, with the acquisition the company’s dry cargo ship fleet now is comprised of three ships of total deadweight of over 50,000 tons. Overall, Transit-DV operates eight different vessels.
The bulker will be deployed on short sea shipping routes from the ports of the Far East to the northern ports of Russia, including shipments to the country’s Northern regions.
