Chinese ports container traffic up 8.1 percent in Jan-Sept
Handling of imports / exports at the ports of China in January-September 2012 increased by 6.3% compared with the same period last year, to 7.19 billion tons, the Ministry of Transportation’s statistics said.
Cargo throughput at the country’s sea ports grew 7.3% to 4.9 billion tons, nine-month cargo volumes handled at river ports rose 4.1% to 2.25 billion tons.
In the reporting period, container trade at Chinese ports increased by 8.1% to 130.9 million TEUs.
