Nobel Bros Shipyard lays down second serial barge of Project ROB07 (photo release)
Nobel Brothers Shipyard on October 19, 2012, held a ceremonial keel laying for the second vessel in a package of oil barges of Project ROB07 for JSC Lena United River Shipping Company, the shipyard press release said.
The barge concept was developed by Marine Engineering Bureau in line with the results of the "Development of conceptual designs of specialized tankers and cargo ships in order to guarantee delivery of goods to the Arctic regions of Russia." The study was performed the naval engineering firm for the Russian Federal Agency for Marine and River Transport, according to the Federal Program "Development of Civil Marine Engineering, 2009-2016".
The Project ROB07 satisfies the dimensions of Lena basin waterway and the Volga-Don, Volga-Baltic channels.
The new Project ROB07 vessel comply with the requirements of the international MARPOL Convention and special requirements of the Russian and international oil companies. Its double-bottom and double-side hull has enhanced ice class “Ice1”. The vessels are designed for transportation of crude oil and oil products with no flashpoint limits.
General characteristics: overall length - 95.23 m, overall breadth - 16.8 m, depth - 5.0 m, 3.60m draft / deadweight - 4403 tons. Capacity of twelve cargo tanks and two slop tanks - 4670 m to carry two types of liquid bulk cargo. Diesel generator rated power - 350 kW, of harbor generator - 6.4 kW. Pump performance - 5 x 150 m3.
JSC Lena United River Shipping Company is the only transport company in the Arctic regions of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). LORP is the main carrier of passengers and cargoes on the regional inland and sea shipping lanes. The company owns and operates a fleet of more than 350 cargo vessels, tugs, passenger vessels and workboats of total capacity of 450,000 tons.
Based in the town of Rybinsk of Yaroslavl Region Nobel Brothers Shipyard Ltd. was founded in 1907. Today, this is the largest shipbuilding firm in the Upper Volga (the yard encompasses 214,000 sq.km) employing 500 people.
