Nevsky Shipyard starts sea trials of Neva-Leader-2 bulker
The dry bulker carrier Neva-Leader-2 (Hull No 402, Project RSD49) built at Nevsky Shipyard has set out on the shipyard’s sea trials, the Company’s press release said. The project was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau-Design-SPb.
Nevsky Shipyard is executing a contract for a series of ten self-propelled dry cargo ships of 7150DWT of Project RSD49 for North Western Shipping Company. Overall, the NW Shipping ordered 12 vessels of RSD49 project. Two ships to be built at Astrakhan-based Lotus Shipyard. The lead ship of the series M/V Neva-Leader-1 was floated out in May. The first ship's dock-side trials will be completed in the fall of 2012.
Ship’s main characteristics: sea / river draft – 4.70m / 3.60m, sea / river DWT – 7150t / 4520t; length overall - 139.95 m, breadth overall - 16.70 m, depth - 6.00 m; cargo holds capacity - 10,920 cbm.
