State looking to divest Rosneft's shares in 2013-2014
The deal to divest part of the state's 75.16% stake in oil major Rosneft could take place in 2013-2014, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov told reporters today, RBC News reports.
The stake will be sold as soon as the best opportunity arises. The government and the company will be looking for premium grade investors, he added.
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said in June that the government should divest its entire stake in Rosneft by 2016.
The government originally planned to sell a 25% interest in the oil company by 2015.
