Moscow Shipyard lays down passenger ship Volgar (photo)
On October 18, 2012 Moscow Shipyard held a keel-laying ceremony for the passenger ship "Volgar" for Lake Seliger, the shipbuilder’s press service said. The vessel was ordered by the Research and Production Center for Automation and Engineering (FSUE NPTSAP) named after Academic Pilyugin, branch Zvezda Plant.
The ship delivery is scheduled for May 2013.
The Volgar is a lake-going passenger ship with enhanced hull’s ice class. The ship will be built under the supervision of Russian River Register.
Ship’s general characteristics: RRR Class: + O 0.2 A, length overall - 32.24 m, LWL - 29,9 m, breadth - 5,9 m, draft - 0.7 m, full load displacement - 90 tons, operational speed - 8 knots, range - 310 nm, endurance - 1/2 days, the crew / passengers - 2/140.
JSC Moscow Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard (Moscow Shipyard), part of United Shipbuilding Corp.) is one of Russia's oldest shipyards founded in 1936. Throughout the years the shipyard has built more than 1,800 vessels with a total overall length of more than 52,000 meters. The firm specializes in building of river passenger vessels, fishing boats and 25-m / 50-m-long luxury yachts.
In 2002, the shipbuilding company successfully passed the certification of quality management system according to ISO 9001. In September 2011, the shipyard commenced the construction of high-speed multi-purpose boats MRV14 for Russian ports. Since 2011 the company has been building a series of 27 buoy tenders of Project 3050 and 12 tenders of Project 3050.1 intended for maintenance of ATONs on Russian waterways, and for monitoring the channels depth in all the rivers of Russia. Since mid-2012, Moscow Shipyard has been engaged in the construction of boats for the Russian Navy.
