Marine Board OKs the Ministry of Transport’s state pilotage service project
The Russian Government’s Marine Board having considered the issue of creation in the country’s ports of the unified state marine pilotage service, decided to approve the proposal of the Russian Ministry of Transportation to improve the safety of shipping providing better pilotage service. The decision was adopted at a meeting of Marine Board on September 28 in Vladivostok. The document was signed by the Chairman of the Marine Board, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.
Deputy Minister of Transport Victor Olersky has told the Marine Board meeting about the Ministry’s proposal - to initiate the adoption of the Federal Law on Amendments to the Merchant Shipping Code (MSC), the basic idea of which is the transfer of all pilotage services in the Russian ports to the federal pilotage organization.
