Sosnowski Shipyard launches Project DCV 47 supply vessel for Kamchatka
Sosnowski Shipyard on October 8 launched the Sosnovka-4, the fourth supply vessel of Project DSV 47 (hull No 10503). The vessel was ordered for the Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport, the project designer Marine Engineering Bureau reported.
The newbuild construction is funded through the Federal target program "Economic and Social Development of the Far East and Transbaikalia for the period up to 2013." The vessel will be operated by KamchatTransFlot.
First two barges, "Sosnovka-1" and "Sosnovka-2" have already been operated in Kamchatka. As of June 7, 2012 "Sosnovka-1" and "Sosnovka-2" have made seven sailings to Nikolskoye and Tilichiki, delivering nearly 1,000 tons of cargo.
The vessels are delivering to Russia's remote areas construction materials, equipment and food.
The Ro-Ro self-propelled barge has carrying capacity of 250 tons of the project is designed to carry general cargo, bulk, containerized cargo on the cargo deck, wheeled and tracked vehicles knurled way offshore unloading loading of ships, the delivery of these goods on unequipped coast with the possibility of drying on sandy soil and gravel, horizontal unloading cargo delivered by the ship's bow ramp and cargo crane.
Ship’s characteristics: LOA - 42.60 m, LBP - 38 40 m, beam molded - about 8.82 m, beam – 8.60 m, LWL draft - 2.0 m, max. speed - 9 knots., twin main engine rated power - 2 x 256 kW. Container capacity, TEU - 12 units, safe load on the cargo deck - 15 tons per vehicle’s axle or tracked vehicle weight up to 60 tons, cargo crane - 7.3 tons (radius 20 m). RS Class: KM Ice 2 R1 AUT3 OMBO.
The lead ship "Sosnovka-1" was laid down on January 13, 2010, launched on May 13, 2011, commissioned on August 6, 2011.
JSC Sosnowski Shipyard was founded in 1924. The shipbuilding enterprise manufactures ships of various modifications and is able to construct up to 300 small vessels annually.
