Icebreaker Russia returns from the Arctic expedition
Nuclear-powered icebreaker “Russia” is coming home, the port of Murmansk on October 9, 2012, the ship operator Atomflot said.
The icebreaker was engaged in support of a research expedition and the Arctic manned drifting ice station "North Pole-40".
During four days 320 tons of cargoes, including fuel, equipment, supplies and houses were offloaded onto the ice chosen for the winter expedition. This was also different equipment that had been tested and is ready for operation in the high Arctic.
