Wintermar gets $10m aid for fleet expansion
World Bank unit IFC has agreed to invest $10m in Indonesia-based Wintermar Offshore Marine to help the company expand its fleet of offshore support vessels (OSVs), Seatrade Asia online reports.
The fleet expansion will in turn serve the exploration and development of Indonesia's offshore oil and gas fields, thereby helping the country meet its energy needs.
IFC's latest aid follows a $45m loan provided in January to the Wintermar Group, the largest supplier of OSVs to Indonesia's oil and gas industry.
Sergio Pimenta, IFC director for East Asia and the Pacific, said: “Our investment will assist the company's expansion in the remote areas in Indonesia and will help improve infrastructure services in the country.”
Wintermar Offshore Marine operates various types of OSVs such as anchor handlers, utility vessels, platform supply vessels, diving support vessels and landing crafts.
