Russia’s Norilsk Nickel re-elects Andrei Bugrov as chairman-CEO
Russian metals giant Norilsk Nickel has re-elected Andrei Bugrov, who represents Interros, an investment vehicle of tycoon Vladimir Potanin, as chairman of the company’s board of directors by a majority of votes, CEO Vladimir Strzhalkovsky told reporters Friday.
The new board includes four representatives of Interros, which controls 28% of the company and three representatives of aluminum giant UC RUSAL, which controls 25%.
It also includes one representative of Norilsk Nickel Investments, which carried out buybacks of Norilsk’s shares in 2011 and three independent directors - Freetel Capital CEO Enos Banda, Mandalay Resources CEO Bradford Mills, and Claude Dauphin, management board member of Trafigura Beheer.
