Disney Cruise Line announces 2013 itineraries to Europe, Caribbean and Alaska
On June 26, Disney Cruise line announced its 2013 itineraries, which includes more European cruises to new destinations – including Venice, Italy and the Greek Isles – as well as adding a second home port in Florida for its Caribbean cruises, Examiner reports.
Disney Cruise Line (DCL) specializes in family cruises. It was named Travel + Leisure’s 2011 Top Large-Ship Cruise Line for Families. DCL has expanded its vacation destinations with the addition of the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy to its fleet.
Sailings for the entire 2013 DCL schedule include cruises to the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and Bahamas, and Alaska via Vancouver, British Columbia.
The Disney Magic will offer four-night, seven-night and special 12-night Mediterranean sailings to offer guests a tour of Europe during the three-month summer season. Sailings begin June 1, 2013, departing from Barcelona, Spain.
The new 12-night cruises, which take place in June and July, features visit two picturesque destinations. One itinerary includes Venice, Italy, and Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast while another offers Ephesus, Turkey and the Greek Isles including Athens.
The four-night getaways, also departing from Barcelona, include stops in Nice, France and Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The seven-night Mediterranean cruise adds stops in Italy’s Florence, Rome and Naples.
DCL rates for its Mediterranean cruises start at $796 per person for four-night cruises, $1,015 per person for seven-night cruises and $2,244 for 12-night cruises for a standard inside stateroom (double occupancy).
In addition, Adventures by Disney (ABD) offers optional packages for DCL’s Mediterranean itineraries for select departures. Disney guests can add three- or four-night pre-cruise vacations in Barcelona and Madrid or choose an ABD Onboard Experience package for the seven-night and 12-night cruises.
The Disney Magic, and her sister ship the Disney Wonder, will offer DCL’s first sailings from Miami, Fla., beginning Dec. 23, 2102. One six- and one seven-night Caribbean sailing will kick offer a series of three-, four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and the Western Caribbean.
Ports of call on these itineraries include Cozumel, Mexico; Grand Cayman; Key West; Nassau, Bahamas, and Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.
DCL rates for its Caribbean cruises out of Miami start at $609 per person for three-night cruises, $500 per person for four-night cruises and $575 for five-night cruises for a standard inside stateroom (double occupancy).
Disney will also continue its sailings out of the Port of Galveston, Texas, to the Western Caribbean. Six-, seven- and eight-night cruises from Galveston will continue through 2013. Stops include Grand Cayman and Cozumel for six-night trips, with Costa Maya added for the seven-night itineraries and Key West and Costa Maya added for the eight-night cruises.
DCL rates start at $750 per person for Galveston’s six-night cruises, $840 per person for seven-night cruises and $920 per person for eight-night cruises for a standard inside stateroom (double occupancy).
Beginning May 27, 2013, the Disney Wonder will sail seven-night cruises to Alaska departing from Vancouver and featured on the itinerary are scenic cruising through the Tracy Arm fjord and the ports of Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan, Alaska.
These cruises will combine the natural wonder and adventurous spirit of Alaska with the unparalleled, family-friendly experience found on a Disney Cruise Line ship. Disney Cruise Line worked closely with Alaskan tour operators to create exclusive-to-Disney family-friendly Port Adventures that allow guests to best experience Alaska’s natural beauty and rich history.
As with Disney’s European cruises, guests can add special port experiences or add pre-and post-trip vacations to their Alaskan cruise through ABD.
DCL rates for the seven-night Alaska cruises departing from Vancouver start at $1,015 per person for a standard inside stateroom (double occupancy).
Also in 2013, the two newest DCL ships, the Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream, will continue to offer Disney’s popular Caribbean and Bahamian trips departing from Port Canaveral, Fla.
The Disney Fantasy will sail out of Port Canaveral on seven-night Caribbean itineraries. The cruise offers both eastern (St. Maarten and St. Thomas) and western (Grand Cayman, Costa Maya, Cozumel) destinations. Special Eastern Caribbean sailings, January through April 2013, will stop at San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Disney Fantasy itineraries include a stop at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay.

The Disney Dream will sail three-, four- and five-night cruises from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas and Castaway Cay.
