Transit goods traffic slumps 25% in Odessa region ports
Transshipment of transit cargoes passing through the ports of Odessa region (Ukraine) fell year-to-date by 25%, New Region-Odessa reported.
In January-June, the regional ports handled 7.13 million tons, down 1% from the same period last year, Odessa Shipping, Transport and Communications Department head Alexander Ilko said.
The freight volume decline was attributed to unfavorable weather conditions and lower water levels in the Danube River.
