Alveis Shipping and Columbus Container re-open line Huelva-Rotterdam
A new Spanish-French partnership - Columbus Container Terminal and Alveis Shipping - will re-open the container line between Huelva and Rotterdam, starting September.
Representatives from Columbus made it known today, in a meeting with members from "La Alianza Onubense", a group born from the horticultural sector initiative to boost the coordination and the creation of the ideal conditions to distribute products.
In the group, coordinated by Juan Antonio Millán, producers, transport companies and logistics operators are included. In declarations to Efe, Millán informed about the re-opening of the line Huelva-Rotterdam, suspended in the beginning of the year, after the Huelva port cancelled Mel Shipping's permit. The re-opening was welcomed "with satisfaction" because it's "a basic line" for the exit of horticultural products.
The representative of the company "Terminal Marítima de Huelva", Antonio Pernia, pointed out that the mixed private society will have an integral port management, supported by its technical and logistics experience, while the French shipping company Progeco, belonging to CMA/CGT and the third shipping company in the world, will take charge of the maritime services for container-ships with general cargo, fruit and refrigerators.
