Hyundai Heavy Industries bags $600m orders for offshore units
Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) has bagged three orders worth a total of $600m to build offshore oil and gas units, Seatrade Asia online reports.
The world's largest shipbuilder won the contract from from an unnamed oil major which placed an order for a 35,000-tonne offshore oil platform scheduled to be delivered by August 2015.
Another order worth $100m is to build a semi-submersible drilling rig for US-based LLOG, which has an option to order an additional structure.
A third order also worth $100m is for six land plant modules capable of producing 200 million cubic feet of natural gas and 10,000 barrels of oil a day for an undisclosed US oil major, with scheduled delivery in June 2015.
