Sechin's 'Oil Club' seeks status of presidential council
The 'Oil Club', which is a meeting of Russian oil executives arranged by Igor Sechin, CEO of the country's biggest oil company Rosneft, could be assigned the status of a council for the fuel and energy complex under President Vladimir Putin, RBC Daily reported today, citing one of the participants of the above-mentioned meeting.
Oil executives came up with a relevant written proposal to Putin at their first meeting on June 8. The meeting was attended by the heads of oil majors Lukoil, TNK-BP, Gazprom Neft, Surgutneftegas, Bashneft, Zarubezhneft, RussNeft, and Alliance.
