CSAV to raise rates from India to S. America and the Caribbean
Chilean container carrier CSAV will impose a general rate increase on westbound trade from India to Europe and the Mediterranean, the Journal of Commerce reported.
The proposed increase, starting July 1, will be $200 per 20-foot container and $300 per 40-foot container.
The move follows a similar rate increase announcement by Geneva-based Mediterranean Shipping Company on the Indian subcontinent-Europe trade lanes, also effective July 1.
Separately, CSAV said it will apply a $100 per TEU rate hike on trade from India to South America and the Caribbean starting July 1.
