APL suspends booking of Riyadh-bound shipments
APL has announced temporary suspension of bookings of any shipments destined for Riyadh in Saudi Arabia due to heavy congestion at the Riyadh dry port, which has severely affected the movements of containers from Dammam to Riyadh, APL said on Monday.
Customers with shipments destined to Riyadh are advised to book their shipments to Dammam instead and made alternative arrangements on their own to truck their containers from Dammam to Riyadh, after customs clearance at Dammam, the carrier's press release said.
APL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore-based Neptune Orient Lines, a global transportation and logistics company engaged in shipping and related businesses.
