SCF experts to take part in the Polar Code development
The Russian Ministry got involved a team of experts of Sovcomflot Group in the elaboration of the Polar Code, organized by IMO, the Group press release said.
On June 1st, President and CEO of SCF Group Sergei Frank met with IMO Secretary General Koji Sekimizu in St. Petersburg in the framework of IMO head’s working visit in Russia.
During the meeting, Mr. Sekimizu was presented the Arctic projects of SCF. Mr. Frank told Mr. Sekimizu about the Group’s experience and its plans for participation in the development of the Arctic shelf and commercial use of the Northern Sea Route. The SCF Group and IMO officials also exchanged their views on the draft Polar Code.
