Sembcorp and Swiber JV lands $175 million Indonesian offshore contract
Through their Indonesian subsidiaries, PT SMOE and PT Rajawali Swiber Cakrawala, Singapore's Sembcorp Marine and Swiber Holdings have won a $175 million contract from Premier Oil Natuna Sea B.V. for the engineering and construction of two wellhead platforms, two infield sub-sea pipelines and modification works on an existing facility for the Naga and Pelikan Project, offshore Indonesia, Marine Log reports.
The platform topside and jacket weigh approximately 480 and 900 metric tonnes apiece respectively. The sub-sea pipelines of 14 inch diameter by 19 km and 12 inch diameter by 32 km are tied to the existing Central Processing Platform.
The scope of work for Sembcorp's PT SMOE Indonesia, worth about $63 million, entails engineering design, procurement, construction, offshore hook-up and commissioning of the two platforms and modification work on the existing central processing platform, while PT Rajawali Swiber Cakrawala will be responsible for the engineering and laying of the two sub-sea pipelines as well as the transportation and installation of the two platforms in water depth of 82 m. Construction work on the platforms is expected to commence in July 2012 with offshore completion by September 2013.

PT SMOE Indonesia owns and manages a 67.5 ha purpose built yard which started operations in 2003 in Batam. With its large graveled surface and half a kilometer of reinforced deepwater quayside, the yard has tapped into an increasing number of local offshore projects and undertaken heavy-weight EPIC projects.
