Murmansk Commercial Seaport acquires 4 forklifts
Murmansk Commercial Seaport (MCS, MMTP) has taken delivery of four new 16-ton forklifts trucks Kalmar DCE160-12, the stevedore company said.
The equipment was purchased in accordance with the Murmansk Commercial Seaport program of procurement and modernization of cargo handling equipment.
The 200hp-powered forklifts of this model have already been operated at the port. The trucks are able to operate in temperatures ranging from minus 30 to plus 40 degrees.
OJSC Murmansk Commercial Seaport, a major stevedore company operating at Port of Murmansk, was founded in 1994. MCS operates 17 berths of total length of about 3 km. The water depths enable access of cargo ships with draft of 15.5 meters and length of more than 265 meters. The stevedore specializes in handling ranged cargoes, including non-ferrous metals and alloys in packages, rolled ferrous metals, coal, apatite concentrate, alumina, and scrap and iron ore pellets in bulk, chemical products in bags and big-bags, construction cargo and foodstuff. In 2010, Murmansk Commercial Seaport handled more than 12.8 million tons of different cargoes.
