ICTSI opens reefer express service at Manila
Port operator International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) launched a reefer express lane (REL) service at its flagship Manila International Container Terminal (MICT), Seatrade Asia Online reports. The REL seeks to hasten the release of import reefer containers via the Manila terminal's west gate.
“Trucks with single transactions will be able to take advantage of a dedicated reefer express lane by getting inside the terminal without joining the regular truck queues. This service has been launched in time for the holidays to support terminal operations during the peak season,” said Aurelio Garcia, MICT terminal manager.
Apart from faster access into the terminal, the lane helps ease traffic flow by spreading out the movement of trucks into the terminal and off the main public roads in Manila port.
