Scan-Trans and Staureby Shipping form strategic partnership
Scan-Trans and the Danish shipbroker Staureby Shipping have decided to form a strategic alliance.Staureby Shipping will act as preferred broker especially in regard to gearless tonnage that new partner CFL delivered to the Scan-Trans fleet, known as the CFL Jumbo types, HeavyLift reports.
The CFL’s Jumbo-type vessels (6500 DWT gearless box single deckers) are designed for special types of cargoes and in addition have the highest ice class.
The Jumbo fleet is one of the main focusses for Staureby Shipping, especially given the strong relations that Staureby has in this segment, which are welcome for Scan-Trans as a strengthening of the existing brokerage network.
Director and founder Joern Staureby of Staureby Shipping, prior ro setting up his own company, was chartering manager of Elite Shipping, fleet manager of Rederiet Otto Danielsen and advisor in numerous shipping affairs. Besides that he trained and co-operated with shareholders and employees of Scan-Trans Holding. These existing ties reinforce the relationship between the partners.
Staureby says the cooperation with Staureby Shipping gives Scan-Trans a new well-informed and established entry into other segments of the project cargo market. Staureby Shipping specialises in brokerage for marine transport of windmills, rail works and other unusual sized project cargoes. It has contacts and contracts with for instance the German sustainable energy producer Enercon.
Staureby Shipping remains wholly owned by Joern Staureby.
