Ust-Luga Port takes delivery of equipment for Yug-2 MTC
Two Hyster forklifts with lifting capacity of 8 tons have been delivered to the port of Ust-Luga for the multi-purpose transshipment complex Yug-2 (MTC Yug-2, port of Ust-Luga, Leningrad region). This is the last shipment of equipment purchased as part of the terminal diversification project, the Ust-Luga OJSC (the port construction managing company) press service reports.
In the past few months the Yug-2 have already received the cranes Liebherr LHM 320 S, LHM 280, Hyster and Kalmar forklifts, Kalmar TR618i trucks, Kalmar reachstackers, Seacom roll trailers. The state-of-the-art equipment has a high degree of reliability. The investment in the upgrade project amounted to 12.2 million euros.
Yug-2 MTC is intended for handling Ro-Ro cargo, including new imported cars, containers and general cargo (large, non-standard weights). The Yug-2 first-phase of capacity of 100,000 autos a year was launched in June 2008. The projected annual throughput of the terminal is reported at more than 4.6 million tons of export-import cargoes.
