Lotos shipyard launches second non-self-propelled barge of Project 7514 for Sea Rescue Service
On 9 April 2019, Astrakhan Region based shipyard Lotos (a company of United Shipbuilding Corporation) launched the second non-self-propelled barge of Project 7514 built for Sea Rescue Service, the company says in press release.
The ceremony was attended by Sergey Morozov, Acting Governor of the Astrakhan Region; Aleksey Rakhmanov, President of the United Shipbuilding Corporation; Rustam Khalitov, General Director of Lotos shipyard; Aleksandr Babich, Director of MASHPROMLEASING; Oleg Grigoryev, Director of Sea Rescue Service’ Caspian Branch.
The construction began in December 2018. The ship has been built under USC leasing programme for sea and river commercial ships. The customer - MASHPROMLEASING JSC, leaseholder – Sea Rescue Service. It is the second ship built by the shipyard for Sea Rescue Service. The first ship was launched on 29 March 2019.
Non-self-propelled barge intended for transportation of general cargo is built under the supervision of Russian Maritime Register of Shipping.

Shipbuilding Plant "Lotos", one of the largest companies of the Astrakhan Region and the Southern region of Russia, has been involved in shipbuilding from 1990. The shipyard’s facilities can accommodate vessels of up to 6,000 tonnes and up to 140 meters. Lotos is experienced in construction non-self-propelled barges and pontoons for shipping companies operating in the Volga-Caspian Basin.
