Okskaya Sudoverf launches seventh shallow-draft barge of Project ROB20
On 24 August 2018, Okskaya Sudoverf shipyard launched the seventh non-self-propelled shallow-draft double-hulled tank barge of Project ROB20. The 6,000 DWT ship of “O” class, “New Belskaya” type, is named Belmax 7, says Marine Engineering Bureau which designed the ship.
A series of 10 barges is to be built for Saint-Petersburg based shipping company Belmax under the leasing contract signed on 31 October 2017 with State Transport Leasing Company as a customer.
Non-self-propelled tank barges of Project ROB20 are intended for transportation of petroleum products with a flashpoint of 600C and above. With their double sides and double bottoms the vessels feature an improved level of environmental friendliness. The barges will be operated on the Belaya, Kama and Volga rivers.
The barge is unique with its ability to carry 6,000 tonnes of cargo (draught of 2.75) while its empty weight is 880.
The ship’s class notation: O 2.0 non-self-propelled liquid bulk carrier.
