State Service for Construction Supervision and Expertise of Saint Petersburg Government has issued a permit for commissioning of the first phase of Transbunker Saint Petersburg bunkering base. This information has been provided by the press service of Kirovskyi Zavod OJSC. The base is built at the coastal line of Kirovskyi Zavod, at the left bank of Ekateringofka river. One-time storage volume is 12 thou m3, that is 6 reservoirs - 2 thou tons each. The share of heavy fuel oil is 80%, low viscosity marine fuel - 10% , diesel fuel - 10%. Terminal’s transshipment capacity is up to 200 thou tons of bunker fuel per year. The services on transshipment of oil products are to be rendered by Transbunker-Kirovets LLC registered in June 2004 and being the part of Transbunker group of companies, authorized capital of Kirovskyi Zavod OJSC is 50%.
The company holds a lease of part of the Kirovskyi Zavod territory and has been carrying the construction of the base for storage of oil products over two years. According to Vadim Anatolievich Lutsenko, production and safety director of the Group of companies, technical facilities of the first phase are unique ones having no analogs in the North-West region. The investments into the project amounted to $18 million. Long-term plan for Saint Petersburg port development provisions construction of the second phase of the bunkering terminal. It will commence in 2007. Upon finalization of the project the storage tank volume capacity and its throughput will increase up to 800 thou tons per year. Investments scheduled for the second phase amount to $20 million.
Transbunker Group of companies is fifteen years old. It possesses six own oil bases for storage of oil products with a capacity over 350 thou tons. It has six railroad overpasses able for one-time handling of over 100 cisterns, 8 births, 13 vessels with total deadweight over 27 thou tons. Companies of the Transbunker Group annually sell over 1 million tons of marine fuel for vessel bunkering, ship over 3 million tons of oil products for Russian and foreign customers.
