State shipping company of Ukraine – Black Sea Shipping Company resumed its shipping activities. According to ukrindustrial.com, this information was disclosed by Evgenij Kozhevin, SSC President, at press conference held at Odessa branch of Ukrainform press center. The Victor Kibenok and Vladimir Pravik tankers, which became free on expiration of lease (Owner - Ukrtanker GSK) have been transferred to SSC and passed to Russian state company under bareboat charter agreement; first money have already come to the SSC’s accounts, Kozhevin says. The tankers built in 1987 in Bulgaria have displacement of over 5 thou tons. They are used in the Caspian Sea for transportation of Russian oil. For the moment being, there is no discussion about their transfer to the Black Sea – the transition would cost over 100 thou dollars – the sum, which SSC cannot allow today, the President says. Kozhevin does not say how many vessels SSC will be able to return. The only information available is the number of property lawsuits of the company – 9 - in foreign countries and 142 – in Ukraine.
