Polish concern PNK Orlen to start controlling Mazeikiu Nafta (Lithuania) at the end of November
Igor Khalupetsas, President of Polish concern PNK Orlen, held a bilateral meeting with Gediminas Kirkilas, Prime-Minister of Lithuania, on September in Vilnus. The meeting was dedicated to the final stage of transfer of Mazeikiu Nafta refinery concern to PNK Orlen. This information has been provided today to REGNUM IA at the press service of Lithuanian Government. The deal is under successful completion according to a schedule. All the document to be furnished to European Commission of EU have been prepared already, Gediminas Kirkilas, Prime-Minister of Lithuania, reported at the conference. Igor Khalupetsas announced in his turn, that EC would be furnished with the package of necessary documents within few days. I don’t think the procedure of the control stock purchase from YUKOS will take much time, he said. According to Igor Khalupetsas, the deal to be finalized by the end of November. When answering the reporters’ questions related to guarantees of oil supply to the refinery, the Prime-Minister told gave the example of today’s situation, when the company works without Russian oil. There are several possibilities. One of them is recovery of oil supply by the pipeline. If not the refinery will continue operation anyway, Kirkilas said. According to Igor Khalupetsas, the situation with damaged Druzhba pipeline "is a very interesting one". The head of Polish concern remarked that Poland is one major customers among those who buy Russian oil, so both countries are interested in mutual cooperation.
