Ports of the Black Sea Region started cooperation in drug-trade struggle
In order to strengthen struggle with illegal drug-trade the heads of customs services of the Black Sea Region countries started cooperation in information exchange between the ports, RBC-Ukraine reports. Drugs are usually transported from Afghanistan via Black Sea countries to Western Europe.
Berngard Bogensperger, attache of European Commission Agency on terrorism and organized crime issues, underlined that efficiency of information exchange activities has been proved by 20-year experience in Western Europe and Mediterranean countries, in particular. According to him, the success is ensured by minimization of bureaucracy, efficiency and pragmatism, Deutsche Welle reports. International system of information exchange will raise technical and analytical possibilities of the Black Sea countries in struggle with illegal drug-trade, which are usually transported from Afghanistan via Black Sea countries to Western Europe. Part of them stays in Ukraine and other countries of the region.
