Maersk undertakes realignment of the service between South and North America
In response to changing customer requirements in the trade to/from the East Coast of South America and the East Coast of North America, Maersk Line is adjusting the capacity deployed in the trade, the company’s website informs. Thereby the company ensures that it can offer a cost-effective product to its customers in partnership with APL and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL).
By amalgamating the existing NASA 1 and NASA 2 services into one new service, Maersk Line will be able to offer a comprehensive and reliable coverage of ports in this trade through one single product.
The port rotation of the new service will be: Newark - Philadelphia – Charleston - Port Everglades – Santos - Rio Grande – Itajai – Santos – Salvador – Suape – Kingston - Newark
The first departure will be the Nedlloyd Clarence, sailing from Newark on 25 October 2006. The last voyages on the NASA 1 service will be: Southbound: Maersk Nanhai calling first at Newark - ETD 19 October. Northbound: Maersk Nanhai calling first at Montevideo - ETD 9 November.
The last voyages on the NASA 2 service will be: Southbound: Maersk Nara calling first at Miami - ETD 25 September. Northbound: Maersk Nanhai calling first at Paranagua - ETD 13 October.
