New Ro-Ro service to St. Petersburg to be started on September 29, 2006. According to the information provided to PortNews IAA by PetroLesPort OJSC, new service will be started by Transfennica company. The first shipmen will discharge on September 29 from Lübeck and will arrive to PetroLesPort OJSC on October 2. In future the vessels will call twice a week to the terminal of PetroLesPort from the ports of Lübeck(Germany) and Hamina (Finland). The service will link Saint Petersburg via Hamina with the ports of Antwerp (Belgium) and Tilbury (Great Britain).
Transfennica company (Finland) was founded in 1976 for transportation of products of Finland’s timber industry. Today Transfennica is a cargo shipping line with its headquarters located in Helsinki. The company operates modern fleet of Ro-Ro vessels at European markets according to fixed schedule between Belgium, Estonia, Germany, Poland, Great Britain, Saint Petersburg (from September 29, 2006) and different ports of Finland. The company has high-speed specialized fleet of Ro-Ro vessels with average age of below 10 years.
