Baltic Fuel Company puts into operation new 3,495-dwt tanker (photo)
Baltic Fuel Company LLC (BFC) has put into operation a conventional tanker, Valery Zelenko, for providing bunkering operations at port St. Petersburg, the company says in its press release.
This 3,495-dwt tanker has inner skin and double bottom, meets the requirements of MARPOL Annex VI. The length is 92.86 m, breadth – 14.36 m. This oil tanker with the capacity of cargo tanks exceeding 4,000 cubic meters was built in 2002 by Gemyat Shipyard (Turkey).
The vessel was registered with the international register on May 23, 2013 and got the permission to sail under the flag of the Russian Federation. The crew and the vessel are ready for operation.
“The Valery Zelenko was acquired within the framework of BFC Group’s investment programme aimed at reinforcement of the Group’s position in the North West region and its geographical expansion within the country,” BFC Director General Stanislav Korneyev says. – We intend to continue the bunkering business development and we also pay significant attention to the ecological aspect, there is a plan for this year to buy two river-sea class vessels for collection of ship-generated waste”.
