Arkhangelsk Sea Trade Port handled 1 021.8 thou tons of cargo in January-August 2006, growth of 12.1% against the year-on-year result. This information has been provided to PortNews IAA by ASTP. Local cargo turnover amounted over the reported period to 56.9 thou tons (+1.2% year-on-year), export – 499.2 thou tons (-0.18%), costal – 357.3 thou tons (+21.1%). The port handled 108.4 thou tons of import cargo (+80.7%), including coal transshipment - 144.0 thou tons (year-on-year growth of +47.5%).
Arkhangelsk Sea Trade Port is a multi-profile stevedoring company operating at the port of Arkhangelsk. It is specialized on transshipment of general cargo, cellulose, cardboard, containers, timber, metal, fertilizers, heavy equipment and dry bulk cargo. ASTP’s facilities enable it to handle 4.5 million tons of cargo per year. In 2005 the company’s cargo turnover amounted to 1.363 million tons.
Major shareholders of ASTP OJSC are Norilsk Nickel Company – 53.5% of shares, Federal Property Management Agency (Rosimushchestvo) -20%, North Shipping Company – 19.7%.
