Russia’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade is developing a proposal on abolition of import duties for high-quality oil products as well as for refinery equipment. According to AK&M, Andrei Belousov, Deputy Minister of RF EDT, announced that at the meeting held on September 18 by State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes. As he says, the corresponding proposal should be provided to the RF Government before the end of the current year. However, according to Belousov, such measures are not sufficient for solving the problem of deficit of high-quality petrol at Russian market. It is necessary to apply integrated approach to this issue, he says. As Belousov added, petrol prices are going to raise even more in 2006 regardless the tendency of oil refinery growth.
